Bradford Respect
Consitution
Aims:
1.
The branch seeks to further the general aims
of the Respect Party as set out in the
Party's constitution.
2.
The branch will work to inform the people of
Bradford about the aims of Respect by all
means available, including emails,
publications, the Bradford Respect website
and the Bradford Respect Facebook group.
3.
The branch will work to support Respect
candidates in Local and General Elections.
Membership:
1.
All paid-up members of the Respect Party
resident in the Bradford Metropolitan
District will be automatically members of
Bradford Respect.
2.
An up-to-date membership list will be
maintained, in collaboration with the
National Office.
3.
General communication between officers and
members of the branch will normally be by
email.
Meetings:
1.
Meetings of the branch will be held at least
once per month.
2.
Notice of any meeting will be given to
members, and on the website, and the agenda
circulated.
3.
Following a meeting the minutes will be
circulated.
4.
All decisions made at meetings will be by
simple majority.
5.
Other supporters or visitors may attend
branch meetings but will have no right to
vote.
Committee:
1.
The affairs of the branch will be conducted
by a committee, elected by members present,
consisting currently of a Chair, Vice Chair,
Secretary, Treasurer and two Press Officers.
2.
Changes to the committee, including the
appointment of additional officers, may be
made by the agreement of a branch meeting.
Finance:
1.
The committee will operate a bank account on
behalf of the branch.
2.
The branch will raise funds to support its
activities by encouraging casual and regular
donations by members and other supporters,
and through any other means which become
available.
